Tara Granahan
Heather Johnson
Tara Granahan is an award-winning journalist, having been a TV & radio personality for 20 years; reporting on everything from breaking news to hard news interviews to entertainment. She also appeared on ABC’s “All MY Children”.  Currently, Tara is the On-air Executive Producer for the morning news program on 630 WPRO/99.7 FM.  Tara received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island in Journalism and a minor degree in English; she was also fortunate to study abroad at the Oxford Moore University in Oxford, England.

Heather (Picard) Johnson, Miss RI 1998, is a former principal dancer with the State Ballet of RI, trained in classical ballet.  She served as captain of the Wheaton College Dance Company, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree, and after winning the Miss RI crown, used her scholarship award from Salve Regina University to obtain as Masters in Business Administration.  She is currently a Program Coordinator at Brown University where she organizes the financial, administrative and educational outreach activities of a science based research center.


 
Mark Mainelli
Chip Brown

Mark H. Mainelli, long time supporter of the Miss RI Scholarship Program, is Vice President of Aetna Bridge Company – a 3rd generation family owned RI construction company.  He attended the University of Rhode Island and received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.   He has been a judge and judges’ chairperson for previous Miss Rhode Island and RIJM programs.


Chip Brown, was born and raised in Virginia, Chip is employed as a travel consultant for Just Vacations, located in Alexandria, VA. He has been involved with the Miss America Organization for the past 12 years.  He served as the travel agent for Miss Texas from 1998-2000 and, in 2001, started the Miss Arlington Scholarship Pageant.   He is extremely proud to have 3 Miss Arlington representatives win the title of Miss Virginia including the present Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron.  

 


 
April Brown
David Dunson

April Brown is a middle school counselor with Educational Talent Search at the Community College of Rhode Island, an ordained Pentecostal minister with Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Providence, RI, a published poet, and acclaimed singer and actress.  She has performed in the United States, Asia and the Middle East.  Ms. Brown holds a B.A. from The American University in Washington, DC.   


David Dunson obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia and a double Masters in Community Mental Health and School Social work from the University of Illinois. David is a former collegiate champion tennis player and State of Nevada Representative for the United States Tennis Association. He is a member of the Miss Hawaii Judges Committee and has judged numerous local pageants in Hawaii and California.
