Cheryl Girr Mrozoski, Miss Rhode Island 1966
"I have chosen to endow this award because this is a successful and worthy program in support of academic achievement for young women.  It has been my privilege and honor to have been directly involved in the Miss America Scholarship process for the past 40 years.  First as a recipient, and then as a judge, and in all cases the women and their families were positively impacted.  Whether it was through financial aid or community based work, change occurred and the results were beneficial to everyone who participated.  We need to support this process and continue effect worthwhile and productive change."

Marilyn Cocozza Trillo, Miss Rhode Island 1967
"Winning the title of Miss Rhode Island was definitely a life altering experience.  I was encouraged to enter the competition when I was a freshman at Anna Maria College for Women, and was drawn by the incentive of scholarship awards throughout the different phases of competition.  Many of my unforgettable moments included winning a Miss America Talent Preliminary Award and attaining third runner up to Miss America, however my fondest memory was traveling throughout the state and meeting its many wonderful citizens who were so supportive.  I strongly believe in the Miss Rhode Island program and want to help make the same opportunities available to other talented Rhode Island women who strive for excellence through self-expression, achievement and community service."

Kelly Jo Roarke, Miss Rhode Island 1997
"I received a Bert Perks Non-Finalist Talent Award at the Miss America Pageant.  I'm single, reside in Atlanta, GA, and am working in retail management for Coach, Inc.  I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild with many state and screen credits, including "Girl" in There's Something About Mary.  I had a wonderful experience as Miss Rhode Island and was afforded many opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.  It's important to me and my family to provide scholarship support, particularly in the talent category, so that other young women can continue to have the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded for sharing their talents."

Peter Koch
"I truly became a supporter of Miss Rhode Island/Miss America Pageant a few years ago when I was asked to judge for the local competition.  Prior to that, my concept of the whole program was limited to the yearly national pageant on television.  My experience as a judge really awakened me to the commitment of women involved and their desire to better themselves and support and foster platforms they have chosen to represent.  Their intelligence and passion are to be admired and I consider it and honor to offer my support in whatever manner possible."

New England Pest Control
New England Pest Control is honored to donate a scholarship to the Miss Rhode Island Scholarship Program because it is a program that not only empowers young women to achieve their personal and professional goals, but also provides a forum in which they can express their opinions, talent and intelligence.
